The following information on how to take measurements is for information purposes only. We strongly recommend that your measurements are taken by a qualified professional.
Chest: Measure at the widest part of the chest or bust area.
Neck: Measure around the neck at the collar, allowing two fingers of room between the neck and the tape measure for comfort.
Head size: Measure at the widest part of the head, one inch above the ears.
Sleeve length: Measure from the nape of the neck at the spine. With the arm relaxed at the side, run the tape measure over the shoulder and to the wrist. Sleeve measurements, along with chest measurements, correspond to mens’ dress shirt sizes. For example, 16″×35″ means 16″ chest and 35″ sleeve.
Waist size: Measure at the smallest part of the abdomen between the rib cage and the hips, just above the navel.
Seat size: Measure at the widest part of the seat, with the legs together and knees touching.
Our tailors are available to take your measurements at either of our locations in downtown Toronto or Vieux Montreal. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. No appointment is necessary, although it is recommended.
If our showrooms in Montreal and Toronto are not convenient for you, Harcourts has dealers across Canada who are available to take your measurements. Contact us for information on a Harcourts dealer in your area.
